Our theatre play
The play is based on the Irish legend of the Leprechaun. The Leprechaun is a magical creature that lives in Ireland since a long time. He is a shoemaker and keeps a lot of full of gold chests. Some of the treasures were buried to prevent robberies.
The legend is about a farmer that was working in his farm when suddenly he found a little man under a leaf. The farmer was convinced that the little man was The Leprechaun so, he captured him for discovering where the gold was hidden. The Leprechaun wants to be free so, he told the farmer that the treasures were where the rainbow is born, behind a bush that was very close to them. The farmer took the Leprechaun with him and went to look for the bush. Nevertheless, when he arrived he realised that there were a lot of identical bushes. Then, the farmer needed to come back home and take a spade to dig so, he decided to tie The Leprechaun to a tree with a red shock. However, before go away, the farmer forced The Leprechaun to promise that he won’t untie the shock and escape with the gold. The Leprechaun was very clever and fulfilled with his promise. The farmer came back and the red shock, which was tied to mark the bush, was already there but The Leprechaun had tied a lot of red socks to the trees of the place. Finally, the farmer couldn’t find the gold and The Leprechaun escape.
In addition, we have added a second part to the story. In other words, we have created a second script including two new characters: The Leprechaun's wife and The Ogre. In this one, The Leprechaun's wife is kidnaped by The Ogre but The Leprechaun rescues her giving The Ogre all his treasures. Once The Ogre has all he wants, he feels alone and he also wants to love and to be loved. What do you think he is going to do? Watch it!!
